Snare Aware Week highlights danger to animals

The League is using its annual Snare Aware Week to highlight the dangers snares pose not only to wild animals but also to domestic cats and dogs.

Shooting Campaigner Katy Roberts said: 'Many people are unaware that this cruel and outdated form of predator control is still legal and we will be using snare aware week to highlight the fact that the UK is one of only five EU states which still permit the use of these traps.

Snares are cruel and indiscriminate and we believe that the only way to stop animals suffering needlessly is for an outright ban on their use.'
